On your current income you certainly should be entitled to tax credit & entitledto is usually correct.

However the tax credits are based on your last years earnings, this may be totally different from this years. I dont know what happens in these circumstances.
Please contact the tax credit helpline to clarify.

    Hello,

The mortgage is a repayment, and we are not allowed to take a mortgage holiday with the type of mortage we have.

Ring them up, and ask if you can go interest only for a while. Worked for me.

    just lost a post but..

    1. You need to sign on for contribution based JSA, assuming you had enough NI contributions in the relevant tax year. That does not depend on OH income.

    2. You need to ask the accountant if the bank loan is secured on the LD and to find out if the LD has been transferred to OH or not.

In fact please make sure that all joint loans are transferred to the BP as other OH become fully liable if BP does not pay them. Did OH see a solicitor/have his own accountant advice on the break-up. He need to talk to business help-line.

Can you do B&B (check the rules) or take a lodger. The latter would give you upto £370 tax free per month.

Tax credits are based on the last years income unless the current years income is lower. Have you provided tax credits with an estimate of your 09/10 income??
