T-Mobile Mobile Internet Cancelllation

yearlus
Had bought a T-Mobile Internet dongle 12 months ago for my Nan to use when she lives at her holiday camp (which is 9 months out of the year).
When I took the contract out, I gave the postcode of where it was going to be used, and 3g internet was there.
All had been hunky dorey for 6 months, until they had decided to remove the 3G transmitter from this area. We have had various problems with connecting since, and many a phone call to t-mobile to try and rectify.
I have rung t-mobile today to try and cancel my contract (which has 6 months left), due to them selling me the product as a 3G product, but it no longers does what they sold it to me as.
They are trying to get a cancellation fee out of me to do this, surely as the transmitter had been taken down that it is no longer fit for purpose it was sold as?????
Any advise on this would be gratefully appreciated

there is a big discussion about cancel T-mobile currently due to change of T&C, might be worth looking at that. And about the transmitter thing there was a case with Orange but it went to court, so if go that route one can say you probably have to goto small claims as well.0
