    Thanks for all your replies.

    Auto update hasn't worked again but manual updates apparently are working so I will look at all your suggestions tomorrow and get back with the results.

    You are still using Vista SP1, so before doing anything else run Windows Updates and get Vista SP2.

    I found an older version v8.x stopped updating properly on one of our PCs, I just removed it, installed the latest v9 and everything was ok.
