Leaving Sky

Hiya guys I've been with sky for a good number of years now and we currently have a sky+ box downstairs and a sky+ box upstairs. I was just wondering what kind of deals or offers they are offering at the moment when you call them up and tell them your thinking of leaving. Sky+ HD isnt any good to me or sky broadband, so do you think theres much chance of them lowering my monthly payment? Cheers

I've been reading some threads round here with interest and it looks like I left the party too soon.

I cancelled over a year ago and despite incentives haven't returned. Though the current SimplifyDigital one is tempting. Anyway, I was offered the grand sum of 1mth at a cheaper rate - no Sky+ no HD no multi-room nothing but that one measly month of cheaper rates. And I was a long standing (>7yrs) to the full service.

To answer your question though - it would appear that if you have the figures from Virgin to hand, threaten (nicely) to cancel and ask what deals are in the offing or you'll likely get something.

Base it on what you have already and ask for more (HD, mixes, etc) for less.
