Caustic soda/crystals...dont forget to wear your rubber gloves and eye protection.0

Not quite so drastic - try sugar soap, that's pretty good.0

Try scraping it off with a stanely knife blade first, you can get one of those plastic holders for them to stop you chopping off your fingers.0

Thanks very much everyone Ill give them all a try !!! thanks again0

I had exactly the same problem, tried loads of products but the one that worked was 'Super Vim Degreaser' spray. Brilliant stuff!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I can imagine baked on grease in an oven or even in a pan. But how do you get "baked on" grease on a wall tile? Agree with the scraping tip and then application of degreaser spray or liquid. Scraping might well remove nearly all of the grease leaving an easy job for the degreaser.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Steam to soften it then use a standard degreaser?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

* let me at it - this is JUST the sort of job I love!!
* Rolls up sleeves.
Right- where's the kettle? Steam, hot water, soft-bladed knife, lemon, roll of j-cloth cheapos, newspaper to put down, any detergent-type products I have in the house - stardrops, please nurse... I'm liking the sound of sugar soap, hot water and a stanley-knife blade, myself!
Things like this I absolutely love getting stuck into, for the simple reason that they WILL shift, and after a bit of effort you can see you've actually made a difference. (Perhaps that's why they give me all the tricky jobs at work, too...)
Enjoy!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
I found the tops of my kitchen units were actually sticky with grease when I moved into my house and tried everything to remove it.. YUK!! The thing that worked was Sugar Soap.. it got it off so easy using a nylon scourer and damp cloth... I also tried it on the tiles at the back of my hob and it worked on that too...:T#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
