I am happy to be proved wrong on SSE/Hydro not charging for replacement keys, however, have been told by many folk I've visited that they do get charged that amount if they loose their keys. BG definatley charge £8 to replace lost keys, and people can buy replacements at designated Pay Pal outlets. If the key or meter chuck up a fault code then they will be reprogrammed or replaced gratis.

Just to clear I work at SSE in customer services and we do not charge for replacement keys, also I and all of colleagues and managers are not aware of being able to buy a key at a pay point outlet this must only be with certain suppliers and areas.

They could but i don't think they do. Perhaps an EON rep could clarify for us?

    Hi :hello:

If you have lost your key or card to top up your meter, E.ON will not normally charge you for a new one.

You can just call and ask and new one will be sent.

If the customer continues to lose the key or card, we can charge for this, and as you have seen this is in the T+Cs.

If you need credit straight away, you can ask E.ON for a tag number to use at the shop.

    Hope this helps a little.

    Helena.
