Where I work, we have exactly the same security ID as the cutomers. DOB, Mothers Maiden Name, Memorable Place & Date, etc etc. However there are a selected few representatives who take 'internal' calls.

Your banks security does seem a little lax.
So long as no one impersonates you, you will be fine. And if someone did..you would know where to look! ;0)

Good luck in your new job. :0)

Presumably your staff bank is somewhat limited in what they can do? Perhaps they don't see it being necessary to ID you for account upgrades/downgrades.

spoke to colleague and they attempted to take him through credit card app after the same questions, he said whoa, what are you doing? they said it's standard.. he declined doing it over the phone and asked for a paper one!

    Bloomin eck!
I'm a bit shocked by your experience, when I phoned YourBank to do my staff mortgage, I had to answer the same ID questions as customers do.
That said, we did a joint app and my OH doesn't bank with either Natwest or RBS. They checked the voters roll and he came up fine, but they didn't ask for any ID whatsoever and he shows up as KYC Verified which is a bit worrying if you ask me (not that he's a dodgy sort lol!).
When you get to the end of your tether, tie a knot and hang on.

I would say that is because you probably got put through to mortgage direct when you called up? I know they do proper IDing. Your hubby may have been able to have his ID verified electronically by equifax, perhaps?
