How have you made yourself look younger?

What have you done to make yourself look younger?

I have changed my hair. I wear more youthful earrings. Loosing weight also I think makes you look younger too.

Any tips & MSE ways to make yourself look younger are welcome too.

happysad, well done on your weight loss!

Keep my hair coloured, am growing it after years of short hairstyles. Don't know how long yet, aiming at Sophie Raworth's (BBC News) style for starters!

Day and night creams and serum every day!

Losing some weight. have got rid of 2 stones this year and am 1 point off my healthy BMI, although had a bit of a thing with a multi pack of Frisps tonight!

Stand up straight and throw your shoulders back.

    Have fun!

Adapt new fashion trends to suit you!

Keep your mind and outlook youthful.....it'll show in your face and demeanour! Mix with and listen to younger people and embrace new ideas and new technologies.

    Age is just a number!!

Owing to financial constraints, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice. :(

Have lost a stone and a half in 4 months, and now fit into the same sized jeans that I wore when I was 18 :j:j:j

I don't think losing weight necessarily makes people look younger. Older people who are thin can look quite haggard.

Personally I find the quest for eternal youth to be quite sad. I am 43, so what? It isn't a crime to look your age!

I find the best anti-agers ,evening primrose oil, nuts, seeds, fruit, water and oily fish. Honestly it works in the long run, a good exfoliator also helps, god luck. JEM
  • I am 32, i think i look my age, nothing wrong with that, i just want to look a good 32!!! I think your teeth are alos an indicator of your age, i am serioulsy considering having them proffessionally whitened, when the finances allow!!
untill then i keep them clean, brushing twice a day and flossing. Visits the dentists every year.

I also make sure i care for my skin, when your 18 you can get away with going to bed with your make-up on, not at 32, i suffer from breakouts on the rare occassion i have done this.

  • Hi Bronnie, like you I have had v short hair for years and have decided to grow it out. To be honest I do decide to do this every few years, then as it grows it goes all sticky outy and drives me mad, and I end up getting it cut short again. I have a bit (well probably a lot) of grey coming through, but I keep fighting it. I know some people look fab with grey hair, but it just makes me feel washed out and old.

I think staying slim helps, and a pair of fab sunglasses always takes years of me. Well I think it does, probably cos I cant see the wrinkles!

I've never actually tried to look younger but then I'm lucky, I just do. I'm 54 and most strangers who don't know me assume I'm in my early forties and I do look younger than my sister who is 2 years younger than I, but she's a redhead and her skin is much more delicate than mine. I have never been a sun-worshiper because I'm just too fair to get a decent tan so I expect this is a huge factor. Plus, my skin has always been very oily so I've swapped the blackheads and acne in my youth for an unlined complexion now. It feels like a fair exchange to me.

I also put my youthful look down to my long, blonde curly hair and the clothes I wear, although I really could do with losing a few pounds.

As said before, being too thin can result in a haggard look as the weight-loss can show on the face first and my old Mum always used to say that a long hair-style in an older woman can drag her face down, but I'm ignoring this at the moment.

I have got grey coming in at the temples so I have bought a Recital hair colour but haven't been brave enough to have a go yet.
