new sky viewing card

Got my new sky card but it does not work on my other box, I bought the box sometime ago off ebay and it has always worked with the previous card, until a few days before i received my new card. (update maybe caused the problem)?
Is this why the cards have been changed so the card only works on the box provided by sky or am I doing something wrong?
Any advice welcome

You've pretty much hit the nail on the head.

There's nothing you can do unless you want to pay for multiroom.

Edit - Should say that the card needs to be paired to the box now. It doesn't matter where you get the box from.

I am bidding on a box now on Ebay, I'm intending to order a card for mutiroom though so will it work ok with the box?

If you're going to pay for a multiroom subscription, Sky will send you out a card for the second box.

Once you get the card, you'll have to phone Sky to get it paired to the box. You can't swap the cards to other boxes.

Does this also apply to a sky box used on pay once etc.?

i think you have to ring sky when you get the card and they link it with the serial number on the box. then you can received stuff , thats what happened to me
