I am moving house next month and wish to upgrade from Dial-Up to Broadband. Will be using one computer mainly but occasional use of a second possible, same phone number. Spend quite a bit of time on the net/browsing/searching etc with some music etc downloads. Will 512 be fast enough? Am confused by the number of packages out there. I currently pay AOL 15.99 a month for dialup but I gather they are not rated as one of the best for Broadband. Is it best to pay for connection/modem to eliminate/minimise the contract or to go for free with 12 month contract (money quite tight at present)?
Advice will be very much welcomed.

My preference would be to go for 12 months with company that has been praised here and look for cheapest option. You can beat £15.99 per month easily.rachelcward wrote:I am moving house next month and wish to upgrade from Dial-Up to Broadband. If you have a friend that uses NTL you can say you were recommended by them and they will get £30 from NTL if you sign up.
I just saw a TV ad for 1meg BB, Base pack TV and phone line all for £33. Seems like a good deal to me.0
