Well phones completely separate to BTs too (It also comes through the 'cable')

So is there the equivalent of an ADSL filter on a Virgin cable phone connection (to separate the phone from the broadband)? Or is it not necessary on cable?

Well I can only go off mine as ive never took much notice of other virgin users. My main 'cable' comes into the house and into a box that splits 3 ways. One to a box that feeds the phone (No filters that im aware of, but I cant get the casing off to even have a look due to the weird screws they use) one to the tv and the other to the broadband
Ive never EVER heard of 'virgin cable' being effected by a phoneline personally.

So on that basis the OP is definitely on Virgin National, not Virgin Media then (as he said in his first post that he has filters on all his sockets).

Ah it might not be in a fibre area then, the GF has hers installed last week and a twin cable was run.

It's ok having filters fitted but if they are in the wrong place they don't work. Happened to me, everything looked fine but wasn't .. had the alter the "arrangement".

Original OP as he has Virgin BB but still a BT line, he may have BB from Virgin via a BT line or a separate optical line in but then this shouldn't affect his telephone.

I would unplug all phones and all filters and install then 1 by 1 to see what causes the fault as it may be a duff filter or a duff phone.

Hi everyone and thank you for the replies, sorry I have been out all evening so just to update.

I am not cable, we do not have it in my area. So my BB is with virgin but I have to have a BT line to receive BB. Anyway, the problem resolved itself again, so is obviously intermittent.

Managed to speak to someone very helpful at Virgin, who thinks there maybe a fault with the our wiring, so I am going to have it checked and see from there.
