Digital TV Deals?

I have sky freeview, ie a leftover skybox whose subscription expired years ago. Consequently we only get what sky offers for free (mostly rubbish). Now I can't afford Sky, but even then I'd only want a few channels (FX, Bravo, Scifi, possibly Sky 1, UK Gold, if all that - don't care about movies or sport). Are there any deals/schemes where people can pay for only a couple of channels?

Thanks.

This isn't Freeview, it's Freesat from Sky.
No, you have to take out the basic package to get any of the subscription only channels.
Mr Murdoch has worked it all out...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

These are the channels you will currently be receiving - http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/freesat-tv-choice.aspx

I would recommend 1 or both of the following to get a good mix of FREE channels, without paying a subscription. Plus if you have a HD TV...you could get a Freesat HD box and get FREE BBC HD and ITV HD, within the next 1-2years there will be freeview HD boxes going on sale aswell.

Channels such as Virgin 1, Dave and Yesterday are available on Freeview but not on Freesat or 'Freesat from sky' - its all to do with who has bought the rights and that kind of thing.

    Hope that helps

I had a look at Freesat but could not find LIVING which has Gray's Anatomy on it - I am really into hospital programmes. Also, I am a fan of House and both these were available on 5 I think. Will I just have to wait until they are repeated?

Living is not available as a Freesat channel at present. 'House' Series 4 starts on Five on 3/7 at 9pm.

No, analogue aerials and digital ones are no different. But you generally need a rooftop aerial to get a decent digital signal, not an internal one.

And unfortunately series 5 of House has been bought and is being transmitted by Sky, so it will be ages before it ever comes to terrestrial TV :(.

    I quoted 5 as showing Series 4.
ka7e is referring to Series 5.
