Did you get a second letter saying they were writing to the GP ? Well done on your renewal. How long an award did you get ?

No ladybelle never received a second letter regarding writing to my GP.I had sent in medical reports/history,X-ray results etc with my completed form and my GP had written his report in the space provided on the form so I am surmising that was sufficient......

Regarding second letters.I had to call them after 4 weeks as I had not received a confirmation letter to let me know they had actually received my renewal

    My award is indefinately

I rang them after 2 weeks because I hadnt heard from them and on the application form it said to ring after 2 weeks if I hadnt had a acknowledgement letter. I knew they'd had it because I sent it recorded delivery but still took them over 2 weeks to send me the acknowledgement letter.
I also sent in my GP report with my application form but I did that in 2007 with my first application and they still wrote to her again, and wrote to me telling me they were going to do that.

I received 2.5 weeks before a letter saying they are writing to my consultant. This time the reward is until Feb 2011.
Wow yours is super quick then if it only took 5 weeks in total including writing to a Consultant ! Well done !

I was unaware until you mentioned it that they sent letters out to say they would be contacting GP`s for more info.Thought they would just do it.

Have you tried calling them to see how your claim is progressing?

    Its just a waiting game

    Good Luck

No reason too.I have done it in the past and always found them very helpful.Just ask them how your claim is progressing.

No news tends to be good news with these claims, unless you want them to write to ask for a doctors report? If you're concerned then phone and ask (or get someone else to) :) but aren't you still way below the average of (11?) weeks that it takes for them to decide?

Yes I am below the average, but I have read on here and elsewhere of some people's renewals coming in 3 and 5 weeks, and because I have not had a second letter in saying they are going to write to my GP I just keep hoping they have accepted the Dr report I sent in with my application this time and that I might suddenly get my 'brown envelope' granting my renewal. It's 4 weeks tomorrow  It's just making me physically ill with the worry as my whole life is dependent on it.
