I have also just had 2 no letters from Egg saying they are not upholding my complaint. I am also interested to know if anyone has had a successful outcome in this situation.0

Hello -this is quite an old thread so I'm not sure the original posters will get back to you. I have recently been successful with my complaint, and I was an online Egg Card applicant (currently awaiting my cheque!). Part of my complaint was that I had applied online in October 2002 and had no knowingly opted in etc. I stated in my complaint that I had applied during a time when Egg were known to have opted in applicants automatically.
However that was not my only basis for complaint and as someone else pointed out in another thread, they don't tell you when you are successful, why you're successful, so I don't know if that is the reason my complaint was upheld, or if there is something else 'behind the scenes' that I am not aware of.0 -
I have previously posted on this thread in relation to Egg PPI and my letter to Egg is typed in this thread. I referred my complaint to the FOS and received a letter stating the FOS had upheld my complaint against Egg and Egg would be contacting me with a settlement offer, which I accepted

I also recently had a complaint with EGG credit card (online application) upheld. It was an online application. We're still waiting on the actual cheque. It's now over the 15 working days they indicated in their letter. Then0 -

Hi Nolcat, could I ask how you worded your complaint please. I have just completed the relevant s/sheets etc. and am in the process of completing the FOS questionnaire and would appreciate the assistance.
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi guys
Just found this thread, and I am in an identical boat. Had a claim denied as it was an online application (from 2001) and therefore I must have opted in.
I'd be interested to hear how the successful claims came about as I have no idea if the box was pre-ticked or if I selected it.
The only way I can think of having a claim still is the fact that the PPI amount was put on my statement each month, and since I made 1 monthly payment on my card, would this class as single premium policy?0 -
Mine was rejected and is now with the FOS.0
