Car Insurance for 21y old daughter - should she add me to policy?

My daughter is searching for quotes for her first car (2003 Smart Car 2 seats)) and I will probably drive it once in a while as she will mine when there is more than 2 people in her car.
I am insured Fully Comp (with ASDA) so will be ok to drive her car anyway and she is also looking for Fully Comp with her insurance but would it bring down her premiums if I was a 'named driver' on her policy (I am already a named driver on my husband's policy too if this makes a difference).
She passed her test last August and became a named driver on her boyfriend's car then too.
She is hoping to sort out her insurance today or tomorrow morning so she can pick up the car tomorrow evening - if that is possible.
Thanks in advance.

The clause for driving any other cars will only provide TPO cover for you driving your daughters car. It is really only there to cover times when you absolutly have to use the other vehicle and not a regular occasional use. Also, it has increasingly been removed from policies to reduce the price on aggregators, so check it is still in yours before you drive!
Most policies that do offer the cover will restrict the age of driver to which it applies, so your daughter might not be able to use it if she buys fully comp. You need to check the wording of any policy carefully before relying upon the cover.
If you want your daughters vehicle to be protected while you drive it, then have yourself added to her policy.would it bring down her premiums if I was a 'named driver' on her policy (I am already a named driver on my husband's policy too if this makes a difference).
It could well do for some companies. Chances are it certainly shouldn't increase the cost so if you are going to use it occasionaly you might as well!(I am already a named driver on my husband's policy too if this makes a difference).
No impact at all on your daughters or own insurance, except that for all of the policies you must declare that you have access to other vehicles if asked. She is hoping to sort out her insurance today or tomorrow morning so she can pick up the car tomorrow evening - if that is possible.
Happy motoring (advise: take care on the corners with that Smart, a school friend of mine rolled one into a ditch going a bit quick around the corner about 6 or 7 years ago! Car and occupants were absolutly fine thankfully!)0 -
Is she buying from a dealer? If so they might have a 7 day free comp cover driveaway deal, usualy with NU or Zurich. Might as well make the most of this free 7 days cover!0

Thanks for your reply and for reminding me that I would only be insured Third Party. To be honest, we only usually go out in the car of the person who's driving and, thankfully, my husband and I are insured to drive each other's car as we were out one day in my car and I 'cockled over' on a kerb and sprained my ankle so he had to drive back home.
I'm not a very good 'back seat driver' and it makes a better journey if we stick to driving our own cars (I never feel he looks after my gears and brakes!!)

It's a private sale although but she was looking at one at a dealer in town which was £500 more and it had 41,000 miles on the clock with 4 previous owners (private sale one only has done 18,500 miles with one lady owner) and the one at the dealer is the Pulse which is the basic model where as the private one is the Passion with sunroof, air con and leather heated seats. To me it sounds the better car although it is an hours drive away. I went for a test drive in it as well as my daughter and it drives nice even though it doesn't have power steering.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Yes, be careful to check how old your daughter needs to be before she's covered third party on another vehicle. With Direct Line you have to be 25.0
