Have been to longleat and we had a good time. We decided to book some seats on the safari bus (to stop the car getting wrecked by the monkeys). You have to book really early for this though and of course you get no control over the speed at which you go through the park.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I would say West Midlands if you are mainly interested in the animals. You can do multiple trips around the animal enclosures on the day of your visit and you get a repeat days visit for free and the cost this year I think is £8.95 each. In Longleat you have to pay for each trip around the animal enclosures although with a passport ticket you can go back to Longleat grounds as many times as you like in a season.
In WM I think you get closer to the animals mainly because they do not have as much space to roam in and there seemed to be more species and a lot more big cats.
However if you want a magnificent stately home and park and the animals are a bit of added colour go to Longleat.
We ended up going to both twice last year although once in Longleat was for the Red Bull Air Race day. If that is on again this year entry numbers to Longleat itself were limited but you could see the Red Bull Race for nothing and without a ticket.0 -
West Midlands Safari Park
coz you get to feed the animals!
they got WOLVES, they got the only pride fo White Lions in the UK (I think)
I think it's cheaper too? AND we got to see Mark O'Shea in his natural habitat (he's the UK equivalent to the nutty ozzie who talks to snakes and crocs).

one Q does west mids have giraffes??!! lol cos thats Ellis' fave animal so wherever we go HAS to have giraffes lol0 -
ignore me lol ive just found it on the website
looks like west mids it is then : )
Thanks guys0 -
i agree...westmidlands park though i would recommend going round the actual safari first thing or late afternoon after 3...(avoid the hours of noon til 2pm) as it less busy and you wont have any impatient cars behind you wanting you to move along and you can take your time....it does only take approx an hour and half to go round....plus the price includes a return trip in the same registration car anytime that year... hth0
