I'm also a nursery teacher and am always amazed at the generosity of our parents....my favourite gifts are the pictures/cards that the children have made themselves and chocolate :D

I always avoided giving gifts to nursery & school teachers. Firstly I was a lone parent, struggling to bring up my son with no financial support from my ex.

I always reasoned that the teachers earned a pretty good salary & were being further rewarded with gifts just for doing their job properly.

Am I alone in thinking like this?
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

    NO you are not.

I dont gift gifts either. Its to expensive. Especially as last year my son had 4 teachers in his class, they all ended up with about 20 gifts each from mugs to choccys to flowers.

My son makes a thank you for putting up with me all year card all by himself and i help him write a poem, its free and lasts a lot longer than a bunch of flowers.

I know teachers appreciate it but i would rather make a donation to a class collection and buy 1 gift from all the children, including those who cant afford to contribute.

I think those who buy large gifts for teachers make other parents feel inadequate. Not aimed at any one here but 1 parent at school insists that anything less than expensive jewellery for a gift is being rude.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I got DD's teacher a wooden apple with a saying on it.

    Very cute off Ebay.
