When have you booked this for as I couldnt see it mentioned on any of the dates that I want to go there and we were really hoping to go there this year! I looked on their own website (whoever it is thru) and a week in school holidays was between £1,000 and £2,000!! A weekend away would be good tho! :D
My children ar pre school so we managed to book 25 september midweek. I looked through the haven site and it was £250 for the same deal so a nice saving! :T

Devon cliffs is the biggest caravan park in Europe
We went last year and got told this when we went on a boat trip in Exeter
Lovely place we found the beach in Exeter had better access as the one next to Devon cliffs is very steep to get down
Who ever is going to Devon cliffs and have never been there try and get your caravan near the entertainment as its basically all in one place but the caravans go from there and go right up the hill and its steep
we had a caravan right near the entertainment (2 mins away)so great after going in the club and getting back to the caravan
I did feel sorry for the people who had to walk up a steep hill late at night though and if you have young children in pushchairs it would be hard work
As for gifts to take home go to Exeter indoor market a lot cheaper than on the site(rock, toffee, biscuits, keyring etc)
Haven stuff you have to get from the site but its pricey
Tescos is about a mile from the park and we bought our bottles of scrumpy back as presents from there, we went to the shop on the site and the same bottles were double the price
In the reception you can also get some money off for the boat trips and other attractions
Hope that helps people who are going
Hope you have a nice time :D

thanx for all the information about devon cliffs holiday park in exmouth.
I thought there would be one around there , but sister who is a student living in exmouth never mentioned it. Anyway her friend up here was talking about having a holiday down there and this offer and etc seems an ideal way of doing it now. Both my sister and her friend in a wheelchair , so I hope they can cater for her.
Entry to the facaility sounds steap at £8 a day for the card. Can I not pay just for the fun pool , no plans to spend my heard saved Job Seekers Allowance on beer.

it might seem like a stupid question.... but is the hotel included in the service charge and the 9.50? I mean, we are not intereste din the parks, we jsut want to use the offer as a base for visiting the isle of wight...

    is it possible?

Has anyone got any experience of their Sun holiday being cancelled?

I ask becuase we had one booked for April 3rd and a couple of days ago the campsite called to say they would have to cancel my booking. It's bascially the first week of buisness for them and the people that supply their caravans have failed to deliver 30.They did offer me the following week but that wasn't any good for me because of work dates already being requested. They did also offer a change of park but this was quite a bit further away and not one i wanted to go to so we had to cancel it.They have of course told me they are going to refund me.I asked them for compensation for the loss of a break for my 2 kids and also the fact that for the last 6 weeks they have had £58 taken from my credit card for passes/gas etc etc which has been gaining interest in their account and costing me on my CC but they refused, they wouldn't even offer vouchers towards a future holiday:(

Surely they should offer me something.I am going to ask the bank if they can tell how much interest i would have been charged(ok it might be little that's not the point) so i can tell them to refund me that at least.

Ignoring compounding and the likelihood that for at least part of the 6 weeks you were interest-free as with most cards until the statement payment date, if you took your £58 and were being charged an example interest rate of 16% per annum, I reckon it would have cost you about £1.07 for the 6 weeks but I doubt it will :D

I know it's disappointing but they did try and help with an alternative date and park - they could just have refunded you and that was that. You win some and you lose some!

Oh and they probably haven't made anything on your money because the credit card company probably haven't paid them yet!! Even if they paid them on day 1 and the very astute business managed to get it put into a 5% savings account rather than their 0% interest business bank account, they might have just made 30p out of it!!!!
