Telewest broadband - can i break the 12 month contract

How can i break my 12 month Telewest broadband connection as i'll be leaving the property after 4 months into the contract?
If i cancel the direct debit, will it affect my credit rating?
Also will i be taken to court for breaking the terms?

Of course you can. No point in paying for something that you can't receive. Make sure though that you tell Telewest though, both by phone and reinforce that by writing that you are cancelling (breaking) the contract due to relocation.
