Just received my Autumn/Winter catalogue :T:D The courier told me to look out for the sale starting a week on Saturday :T

Couple of tidbits re : the sale from 'inside'

Most stores don't use the list system. It's a Xerox ream of epic proportions and includes the items coming back from the mid season and even winter sales. It's a mammoth document and incredibly inefficient

The stores use handhel scanners. The sale file is downloaded onto these then the floor and stockrooms are scanned and the scanner denotes a ticket colour and was/now price. This is the easiest and quickest way to action the markdown and this began in most stores the past Monday.

Next have become aware that shoppers have twigged onto the codes (ie B12 meaning Blue ticket, £12) so stores have been instructed where possible to avoid markoing down on the shopfloor or remove the stock and use continuos lines, double up if required.

Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone knows when the VIP e-mail invites will possibly go out next week? If the VIP sale dates are the 15th and 16th is it normally one day or is it two days before the slots start making it either Monday or Tuesday. I have always been lucky before and got a VIP slot and I am hoping to get one this time but if I do I am really hoping it won't be Tuesday cause I am at work from 7.00am to 3.00pm and won't have a chance to look at my e-mails?
Anyone help?

I have a feeling they will go out sunday/monday time.

I cant remember what day the Xmas vip sale started but I remember that the invites went out on a saturday, (think it was either a tuesday/wednesday)

Am I completely deluded to think that it may be in the sale?
Should I just go ahead and buy it?

I would'nt buy it yet just incase it is in the sale. If its not in the Sale, you'll still be able to order it online. Either way, wait until Sat 18th to order it

I've noticed a lot of the stock has the perforated price label torn of instore. Would this mean that the item is going into the sale and preparation has began to mark it down:D
