About £23 I think but you get 2 tickets for that one for you and one for partner.
  • I can only echo what people have said above really, you need to know your prices and not just assume everything is cheaper. I personally find costco to have less tat than makro but thats opinion ;)

I also think the electrical items are not 'cutting edge' so to speak, some of the items seem a little dated, although this isn't always a bad thing as last years model doesn't usually make that much difference to functionality.

Tyres, I actually got a price for some michelin tyres, 205/55/16 and they were £80 each, quite pricey but a relatively big wheel size and michelins are good.

Some things I find are really good, for example wonder wheels (works wonders on alloy wheels) goes for a tenner in most places for around 70cl-1litre. In costco for a tenner you can get 5 litres, similar size to a big antifreeze which will last for ages!

Food seems reasonable, although again the supermarket offers seem very good now, for e.g 24 boddingtons is cheaper in a few supermarkets than in costco! :)
  • I find that for a lot of things, Costco is no cheaper than supermarkets, but what you get is better quality. For instance, the bin liners we use are about the same price as the thin, almost transparent rubbish you get at the supermarket, but are more like rubble sacks than bin liners!

The food is also excellent if you're catering for a party - we fed 100 people with pizza, finger food, salad and cakes etc. for about £2.50/head. It's great quality, too.

Just bought some tyres this weekend and they were ten pounds cheaper than anywhere else. They only sell Michellin so they probably negotiate special deals with the manufacturer. They even run offers during the year which can reduce the cost of four tyres by 20% - not bad at all. If you ask any tyre retailer I think you will find that they recommend Michellin becasue they last longer - so even if they are more expensive to start with I think you save in the longer run.

I think it's worth being a member just for the special offers they run when they have their passport (twice a year). The savings to be had then are huge and if you are willing to stock up you can save on things like loo roll, kitchen towels and tissue paper. Some of the electrical items are also cheap.

and I agree that the fruit, veg and bakery goods are of a very high standard and are reasonably priced compared to the supermarkets - BUT - the supermarkets are definitely better value when they run their BOGOF's and 3 for 2 offers.
