Chrysler Sebring - Good deal or Not?

Hi all,

Sytners are offering Sebrings for £9500 on the road for the 2.0 Crd model or £199 per month plus deposit etc...

www.sytner.co.uk

I was wondering whether this was a good deal as there saying the rrp is more like £18k so this is effectivley half price plus they will allow for the scrappage scheme.

Now I know Chrysler have recently filed for bankruptcy but Fiat have just done a deal to buy them out, so they should be ok. Im thinking that there trying to offload the larger models prior to Fiat taking over.

Any thoughts?

My main thought is this is a rare car. How many dealers are there? Are they local to you? What are parts prices like? If you have a prang will parts be available to fix it?

It's a US car which usually means the car handles like a jelly and the interior is built of plastic more suitable for lego blocks.

Ive had a Neon for the last year and really like it, so have no prolems with Chrylser, the main dealer is only 8 miles away.

I like the look of the car and if its anything like my 8yr old neon then I will be more than happy.

My question is more about the deal, is it good or not?

Is the rrp at £18k realistic or inflated to make the car look good value at £9500, whats similar out there and what price are they, and what deals do they have?

Does anyone have a newer Chrysler and whats there experience with them?

The Sebring has the appearance of a more luxury car (leather etc) with a similar size and shape to the Lexus, but obviously not to the same standard (or price!)

    Any help appreciated.

I had the 300C for a year and loved it. At that sort of price it is probably an excellent deal but you will want to check the price of used ones to see if you can handle the potential depreciation. What car give it 2 Stars so aren't impressed but then again they never are with any of the Chrysler/Jeep models unfortunately there are no reader reviews which can be quite interesting.

I might be tempted at that sort of money to keep and run until it died.

Thanks, Hintza, Ive been on Auotrader and checked the prices of nearly new and used, theres a few nearly new ones around the £10k mark so a brand new one at £9500 seems to be good.
Even on fleabay there around the same for nearly new and over £14k for new!

And yes as its a diesel model Im after - I would run it until it died!

The Chrysler Sebring - More style per gallon.

Sebring's styling and fuel efficient design proves that, inside and out, it's engineered beautifully.

And now the Sebring 2.0 CRD Limited is available from just £17,850 on the road...
OR, qualify for the £2,000 Scrappage Scheme and drive away from an amazing £15,850 on the road.

Call your nearest Sytner Kings dealership today

Which dealer is charging £9500 ?
Just looked at Sytner Kings and its from £17,850

Ahh cancel that theres 2 pages on website I see it now.
Wonder why they've left the other prices up ?????
It's not just about the money

On the other page its my understanding that with scrappage this price would be £7500, which is an amazing price! Shame my car is only 8 yrs old!

They probably left the other page up to show what a good deal it is (or appears to be!)

I see that they want £10,850 for a 2nd hand one with 1,900 miles on the clock ????
I can't see them selling that if you can get a new one for £1350 cheaper :rotfl:
I'm wondering if its only that price if you take finance

If you could get it at 7.5k on scrappage (i.e. it really can and not just an elaborate switch and bait) then I think it is a good deal. As long as there is a dealership close by (and hopefully they wont go bust THEN someone buys them - thus removing warranty obligations) you have a good sized car with decent spec for not a terrific amount of money (in comparison). And I guess it WILL be on their hefty price finance (which might still be a bargain - check the cost of credit vs say an 8% loan)

Your syntner kings dealership might be a long way off though so i'd call them and triple check first (and pay your £100+ on credit card)

Thats what Im thinking, I wonder what price you'd get if you walked in there with cash? (or a credit card) Im sure (looking at the figures) there only making around £1000 from the finance (total figure for finance is £2050 so split that bwt the finance company and the dealer)

It's on a 2 year PCP with a guaranteed residual. No worries about depreciation there, The depreciation is limited to £199 a month. Any more and you hand the car back ;)
