I am looking for the following.
UNLIMITED internet 3gig download, UNLIMITED texts, 800 minutes >>£30.
I like the http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/index.aspx?en-gb but t-mobile said that it has had some problems and it was not that popular. They would say that as they are not offering the phone themselves. QWERTY keyboard, full internet screen, 3.2 m camera & video.
Is the G1 any good? Good camera? Good for surfing? Good responsive keyboard?
Is the Sony X1 any good? Good camera? Good surfing? keyboard response?
My current phone is a Sony Ericson
Thanks
- Good full internet pages - not cut down mobile internet when I surf.
- Good camera phone
- Good large screen
- qwerty or number pad not via touch screen therefore iphone would not be suitable for me.

I found this on Samsung US website http://www.samsungmobileusa.com/Impression.aspx is this the phone you mentioned? How would it be better than the T-mobile G1?

Consider the Nokia E71; a very well-made phone, full qwerty keypad, meets your requirements and in my experience is very stable with a superb battery life.
Mine's with Three, but T-Mobile do offer it though on a slightly more expensive plan.Long-haul Supporters DFW 120

The G1 is very highly regarded among users. It'll never win a beauty parade, but it delivers as a mobile internet device. The keyboard's pretty useful which a lot of the newer Android phones destined for launch will omit in favour of a full touchscreen - something the OP specifically doesn't want.
If T-Mobile are ranging it, perhaps look into the Nokia N97 as another option? Not an Android phone, but the camera's a lot better and it meets the physical criteria of QWERTY and big screen."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"

Can I use hotmail normally on the phone? Would I be able to watch BBC Iplayer? 4od?“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

Wonder when G1 is coming to 020

HappySad - hotmail access via mobile phone can take a variety of forms, from setting up direct POP3 access with the phone's mail client to simply going to the website on the phone's browser. The G1, being a Google phone, integrates better with Gmail though (as you would probably guess!)
BBC iPlayer streaming does work with some mobiles (list here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/where_to_get_iplayer) but the G1 is not among them. I don't know of any mobile phone that supports 4OD streaming natively.
mr_fishbulb - The G1 is unlikely to ever appear outside of T-Mobile in the UK.That's not to say it's not unlockable however..."Who throws a shoe, honestly?"
