Am I just unlucky? Or not trying hard enough?

I haven't been comping for long, maybe a bit longer than a month and I have yet to win a thing.
Then I look on here and there are so many people just listing everything they have won so far this and I have to wonder am I just unlucky? Or am I impatient does it take longer to see the fruits of my many hours putting in my information for competition after competition?

    Cheers

I started 'seriously' comping about 3 weeks ago (entered about 1,000 comps since then :o). I had done bits of comping for about a year, but only had my first wins 2 weeks ago. I think the trick is to enjoy the comping itself, and not worry about winning.

Cheers people! I know I am very impatient, but I also know I have never been the luckiest person although in the past I have won two competitions with Handbag.com which were 2 Lacoste handbags and a John Freida Collection of Hair stuff.
I am entering so many competitions my fiance is always making a joke of just how many we are entering if it seems like hundreds but I'd say an average of 5 a day.

Ive entered thousands of comps since Aug 2008 and havent won anything.

Just seems like some people win and win and win. Not just small prizes either. Money and a car, two plasma Tv's etc

Its easy for those who win to say "keep positive" but theres something very disheartening about doing what others do in the exact same way and having the same chance and never, ever winning.

    Oh well.

Most of my winning emails and letters have come 2 or 3 months AFTER the closing date of the competition so i would say hang on in there and while you wait...enter some more!! :D lol

Its all purely down to luck...if your name comes up it will. And its all a numbers game...the more you enter the more likely you will win just purely cos of odds. Im up to about avge 6 wins a month so far and i dont consider myself as lucky as some ppl but I'm more than happy , as i only do this for a bit of fun, and since a bad accident at work a few years ago Im off work long term so this keeps me sane lol. Keep at it but dont look at comping as any more than a bit of fun which sometimes brings rewards.
July wins: shallow grave dvd/Pentel pen/Blood The Last Vampire Anime DVD/The good the bad & the wierd on blu ray/Blood The Last Vampire T shirt/PURE One Mini DAB Digital Radio/5 iTunes/Fuera Windproof Trousers/Blood The Last Vampire T shirt (another)/Pair w/end sonisphere camping tix/Conduit r/up poster etc/

I had a win delivered yesterday from a competition which closed in april. You may yet see something. DS2 has a jiffy bag arrived today, think its a book of some sorts. Got to wait til 3.30 to see what it is!

Sometimes the anticipation is even better than the prize.

5 a day is nothing - I enter about 100 plus a day and win a prize about once a week on average. Comping is almost like a part time job it takes up a lot of time to see the benefits. I have been comping for 4 months and I have won £2800 worth of stuff. But I may win nothing for ages now - Enter loads, enjoy it and don't expect too much.

5 a day, add a couple of zeros on it then come back in 6 months if youve not had one win LOL
