I don't get it.

All badges out there were issued by Blue Peter themselves.

If I want to sell my one (I don't have one really but bear with me lol) to Flo in Southampton, then Flo can get into those places free and I can't any longer.

In reality, nobody is losing out at all.

If there are 1 million in circulation, that means 1 million people can use them - if people buy and sell them, it doesn't change how many can be used does it??

They are probably miffed because people are making a profit out of them, but then again, anything you own personally you should be able to do whatever with it.

It's always been a matter of pride for the kids who got them - then the adult touts come along and de-value the whole concept. OK, only one person can use the badge for free entry, but that's not really in the spirit of the badge, is it?

They did say on the news that there's nothing illegal about it, they just don't think it's right that people are profiting out of all these companies goodwill.
I agree, it's eBayer's going too far (then again I don't think people should sell medals they earned in wars, etc).

theyve been on sale on there for years. i wanted to buy my mate onefor his birthday last year as he lost his when he was a student but couldnt afford the prices they were going for so i didnt buy him anything apart from a pint lol.

you can buy jim'll fix it badges and bendy bullies so why not blue peter badges.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with Blue Peter badges being sold on eBay. If I had one surely it's mine and I can do whatever I want with it-including selling it if I so wished. I think it's totally stupid that the associated benefits of having a Blue Peter badge are being put on hold for the time being. Selling it is not illegal or rule breaking so I don't really see the problem.

The BBC investigations department did say on the news the other day that some of the badges being sold were fakes

And if this is the case then it de values the original item and spoils it for everyone as has happened here

I wonder how many NPB reports we will see when this news gets around
