You sound like your trying too hard to find something to attack me about.

I just find it difficult to understand why so much vitriol over figures that suggest we may be coming out of recession, and the policy of staying out of a fixed currency may be bearing fruit

Because a lot of people here feel disenfranchised by a decade long boom that has left them fearing for their jobs, stuck in unsuitable rented accommodation and lacking any realistic opportunity to join a property owning autocracy that tells them constantly that only losers rent; unless prices come down a long way.

Don't blame other people for your own failures

Out of recession !!!!!!, in real terms we are not half way through. Tell the 800 LDV workers and 1200 + C& G building society about to lose their jobs things are looking good !!!!!!.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I'm not a failure thanks Dan, in fact I've done ok out of property myself. Which required no effort whatsoever as it was based entirely on fortuitous timing.

I've also done pretty well with my career, which has required a lot of effort and is based on ability and hard work.

What have you got to say for yourself?

Newsflash: People still lose their jobs, even in boom time. A recession being over does not mean the rate of redundancys drops to Zero

Apparently in polls over 70% of the British public do not want rising house prices.

This is totally ignored by a tidal wave of media and government spin.

    Why?

Well high house prices mean loans, loans mean money for Finance and money for Finance means...

money for a relatively small number of people who run Finance who conveniently are also in, or very influential to...

    Media and Government!

Throw in a few clips of hard working families who had to sell their cat when their home "was valued at less than it was worth" and you got yourself a rootin tootin rollin logic defyin bandwagon.

WMDs will be showing up soon in Iraq too I hear.

The same poll could have been interpreted as saying "75% of people don't want house prices to fall"

In true definition of the word, we may well officially be out of recession this time next month as both April and May have shown growth.

I agree there will be more job losses, a little more house price falls etc etc but in terms of the definition i believe we are out of recession now.

Then I trust you will be absolutely delighted about the steady falls in the property market, that have opened up the world of home ownership to your fellow board members.

    Wont you.
