  • DH's job is really low pay (minimum wage, take home just over £800 a month) but he gets 10 weeks off a year paid (most of the school holidays!), he finishes early so he gets to spend time with the girls & his weekends are free so although it's not brilliant pay he likes it because of the other benefits.

What I'm trying to say Splodz is weigh up pros & cons, perhaps write them down then work out what means a lot to you.

P.S Last weeks Dr Who comps are finally on!

I think Nicky summed it up fab for you there Splodz, I cant really help you, I only ever worked for one company and was always treated very well in all the roles I had there. I was gutted when I finished but it wasnt financially viable for me to work. Being happy in a job is more important than pay though (within reason obviously, I mean bills still have to be paid and all that !)
Thanks to all posters and contributers

Nicky, Krailton and PMS, thank you. Yes, I love the way I can run my own day. There is stress - I don't think I could cope with any more. I don't manage any people. My boss is really supportive. You're really helping me realise I'm probably not a career woman. But I do find I care a lot about what I'm doing and want it to be just right, which means I put in a lot of effort into everything and end up with more work probably down to my own fault. Would love to have more money though so I could do more things like holidays and buy more shoes. Guess I'll just have to win stuff instead.

And Claire and Cathy. Thank you so much for reading my problem and helping me out. I really appreciate it. xx

    Oooo spam is back! :)

Evening.......my god you lot can talk.......:D

Had a good time at Taste of London - got a slight headache now though which I attribute to London itself...(and not the pint of Magners, wine tasting session, sample of rum, sample of very nice whisky, free glass of champagne....get the picture girls....:D). Also shared various dishes (lamb sweetbreads are surprisingly nice....:o) - also got a couple of freebie samples and entered a couple of prize draws........you can take the comper out of the inn but she'll still find comps......:rotfl::rotfl:

Got confuzzled coming out of Regents Park and went in the totally wrong direction to the underground station we wanted but ended up at one that was on the right line, and got back in time to catch the train we wanted.

Seem to be lots of winners today:j
