Anybody still stocking tins of beans?

Options
Just wondering as now there will be no armageddon and we are out of recession and house prices are rising again, I thought I would get tucking into these 80 tins of Asda beans. What you think?

Don't mention tuna, spaghetti rings/bolognese and ravioli please, I feel sick thinking about it all.

Don't knock it. It makes a lot of sense to stockpile certain things.

    Two examples:

Lloyd Grossperson's sauces. Store about 3 years. Cost on offer in Asda/Sainsbury around April £1. Current cost in my nearby Sainsburys £1.63

Tea. I like expensive tea. Tea bought now will last till 2011.
Sainsbury Breakfast Tea on offer in April @ £1.89. Current price £2.71

Just two examples. The rise in the cost of tea was predictable.

'Armageddinabargain?' is the first thing to ask, rather than 'Armageddon?':D

Unfortunately I have lost the key to my undergorund bunker where most of my beans are stored. I also seem to have accidentally thrown my mothers life savings out when I gave her Divan to some passing travellers.

And to cap it all my tin foil hat has actually molded itself to my head and wont come off. This is a bad day for me.

I've always had a large walk in store cupboard.
Comes from being brought up by my grandmother.
I don't use more than one tin of anything a week as I prefer to cook from scratch and hate anything over processed but do keep some tinned stuff but baked beans are not something I'd eat.
I do admit to having two of everything and replacing one as a spare when one runs out.
My daughters have always mocked me but they're always ringing up and asking me to bring this and that as they know I'll usually have it.
Must admit I do stockpile tea and coffee when it's on offer though as they both keep for ages.
Just common sense realy if it's going to save a bit in the long run.
