dont know if it applies to the HD but i used to have the touch, of course running on a cooked rom, when i had to send mine back i just forced the phone into bootloader (cant remember the buttons to press) and flashed back the original firmware and then flashed the spl back to the original.

the thing is mate i cundt put back the stock rom as i cudnt get the phone to start. ive already sent it htc and theyve said that the warrenty is void, im asking if my insurance will cover it? im getting the phone back tommorow from htc without being repaired, im wondering if the insurance comany will fix it?

HTC won't repair it even if it is an official htc rom, if you hard spl your phone from say a tmobile branded one they insist on changing the mother board. Had this myself but got it back and managed to get it working again.

It was a gps problem and htc came out with a fix, and it worked, very surprised thought I might have to get a cheap tom tom or something.
If goes wrong agsin though I am stuck, once they have your serial number its no go.

I disagree, if you put the rom supplied with it back on & you send it back through your network from the store ( AS PER BELOW ) then HTC dont have a leg to stand on.

Always get a member of staff to confirm the handset fault & sign for it, before store send it off or its collected from store - thus should always be done toprotect yourself from "water damage" and all the exuberant claims authorised repairer come out with.

NEVER HAVE A HANDSET COLLECTED FROM ANYWHERE BUT YOUR NETWORKS OFFICIAL STORE OR SEND REPAIR FROM OFFICIAL STORE *WITHOUT* YOUR NETWORKS OFFICIAL STORE STAFF NOTING & SIGNING FOR THE FAULT/S AS SHOWN - THIS IS YOUR 3RD PARTY PROOF TO REPAIRER, SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE HAS THEN BEEN MADE BY STAFF OR WHILE IN TRANSPORT, NOT YOUR RESPONSABILITY - NETWORK, COURIER, REPAIRER & MANUFACTURER'S :)

scsar, have you tried xda-developers website etc ?

ok you can't get it started but are you able to get it into bootloader screen? If so go to xda devs and you'll find the instructions to reload official stock.
