frontline every time. All other powders, collars etc brought my last cat out in an awful rash.
I recently bought frontline from www.petdrugsonline.co.uk as recommended on the cheap pet meds sticky here and was mightily impressed. half the price at the vets or petshops, batch numbers checked out and good long use by date. I'd never use anything else.

i have gone for advantage now, havent used it yet as still waiting for the month to be up after using frontline.

frontline used to be great but this year it has not worked at all on my cat.

I am just in process of spraying the house with RIP carpet spray (which 2 local vets now recommend) and then end of next week put the new advantage on. I am grooming 3 times a day until then. Hopefully this will nip it in the bud as i only found 2 fleas, but as a flea can lay 500 eggs in its lifetime just 2 fleas could end up being 1000:eek:

also the key is hoover, hoover, hoover empty the bag/cylinder (i have dyson and wash it out afterwards). the vibration and heat of the hoover makes the eggs hatch so you then catch more of the sods lol.

my mum is looking in singapore to see if advantage is cheaper out there, as its non prescription drug over there. then she can bring some with her when she comes next week.

also if you are going on hols to the states its a non prescription drug there as well

When we had a flea problem with the cat and the upstairs carpet, we went to the Vet who gave us Stronghold, which got rid of the fleas in the carpet as well as my Cat!

Might be an idea put some flea powder in the vacuum cleaner cylinder. I know some people put whole flea collars in theirs.

carpets all sprayed yesterday, but even though only frontlined my cat 2 weeks ago, i am still finding fleas on her. 2 again this morning and they are live jumpy ones not sleepy droopy ones, so the frontline is defo not working.

Actually, there is a new Bob Martin flea treatment out in a gold box (Dual action I think it's called) you can only get it from licensed pet shops it contains the exact same ingredient (Imidacloprid) in the exact same quantities as Advantage and Advocate and it's less than a tenner for a box of 3 monthly treatments.

Believe me, I wouldn't use it on my dogs if it wasn't safe - I have spent the vast majority of my working life working in medicine.
