Congratulations. Everything seems straightforward here. Sit by the phone on the morning of the 7th. It can take a couple of hours for the money to be moved from solicitor to solicitor, but by mid morning you should be able to pick up the keys from the EA.

Don't forget to check all the meters :T

Congratulations, we've just sent off the application last week on Wednesday and already I'm getting impatient.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

I'm also due to complete next Friday but the solicitor hasn't contacted me today as promised to tell me if the exchange has been done.

We should be completing on 10th - woo! Seems like years since we first got our offer!

Things I would have done differently - a few...
I would have gone on holiday before we put our place up for sale.
I would have sold all our clutter and tat by car boot or e-bay before we put our house on the market.
I would have researched mortgages, surveys and solicitors before we put the house on the market.
I would have accepted our buyers offer but not taken it off the market until we got either full asking price or a survey from them (they were painfully slow).

I'm sure I'll have plenty to add to this list by the time we move! (Probably something to do with "I would have bought a house with a kitchen instead of a cupboard with no room for an oven" hahaha!)

we had the offer accepted just before Xmas - exchanged on 10/2/06 and are due to complete on 7/4/06 -but thats only because April was when the tenants contract expired we couldnt get in sooner

    still it suited us

    Things i'd have done different:
    - not listened AT ALL to estate agents- after my experience with them I am very cynical - everything is cloak and dagger
    - not depended so much on my mortgage adviser
    - done some of the mortgage search leg-work myself (or had the confidence to do so)

thats about it, overall i am glad for the process to be over - and i'm praying i dont have to move for a LONG time.
