wondering if anyone knows anything about a problem we have with our volvo v70 (2000), when it rains there is an amount of water appearing to come through the internal light component at the front. We are at a loss as to how this water is getting in, as we have had the windscreen checked by a garage and there are no leaks there, but the water wouldnt travel upwards... strange...

thanks loops

    Does is have a sunroof?

I had water appear in the light at the front of my old Corsa. When I peeled back the top of the windscreen rubber there was a hidden rust hole.

either the sunroof, roof rail / rack or the ariel? or as viking says it could be a hidden rust hole somewhere.

no roof ariel, no sun roof, only thing we have is roof bars.. now usually the car is reversed down a slant on the drive and water appears on driving off. so last night he parked facing down the slope and this morning a roof light full of water... strange. will check roof bars tho...

This is the problem I had with my old Corsa. If I parked facing down the slope the steep angle of the roof/windscreen meant that very little water collected in the light fitting. If I parked facing upslope this made the angle of the windscreen/roof much more shallow and rainwater sit on the seal and take longer to run off = full light fitting.
