Vodafone PAYG SMS delay
Since moving to Pay As You Go from a Vodafone contract, I have noticed a delay in receiving SMS messages. Recently, a text message took 1-2 days to arrive. I did not experience this problem while on a contract.
I contacted Customer Services (UK) to enquire whether SMS messages are de-prioritised when on Pay As You Go. The advisor said that there may have been a problem with the phone sync'ing when transferring from a contract to Pay As You Go.
He advised me to remove the battery and SIM while the phone is switched on! I explained that this is not recommended by the manufacturer. The advisor said that this is what they have been told and would enable the phone to re-sync. and catch up with the network?!
He also agreed that it wasn't recommended to remove the battery and SIM while the phone was on but it should be fine to do this as a once off?
Can anyone confirm if this is correct information? Are the instructions standard procedure? Do mobile phones lose sync. with the network in such a way?

Yip! thats another "standard" Voda set, as payg and the main revenue earners for Voda you get less priority ??
Madness.......
Had the same problem on Voda payg, 3rd party outsourced customer care on payg in Scotland is superior to the contract 3rd party customer care though.
Voda in 2002 was superior at customer care, then 3 "lowered" care as well as priceplans as a UK standard.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
