HI
My washing machine has died and so need to replace it. Im on maternity leave so it will be going on credit card or an intrest free payment scheme. So can anyone recommend a decent machine that doesnt cost the earth. I was thinking around £300.

From my Which? magazine.
First of all the 3 top reliable brands are :1. Miele 2.Bosch 3.Zanussi/Zanussi-Electrolux...
However Whirlpool comes not far from the top and they say the Whirlpool AWO/D 5526 at around £250.00 is exceptional value. It holds 6kgs and energy and water consumption are low.
Shop around you may find it cheaper.
Good luck0 -
If you're on a budget, have you thought of buying something second hand or even looking on freecycle?0

Have a look at john lewis - they were highly recommeneded when we last bought - spent about £300 on their own brand, think it had a 3 yr warranty included.0 -
eBay or Freecycle or some charity shops have tested and guaranteed electrical goods.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I recently bought the Whirlpool AWO/D 5526 following a recommendation in Which? I managed to get if from M&S Electricals for around £230 and I must admit I am extremely happy with it. It washes fantastically, has a big drum and all sorts of mod cons including time delay etc. It also has a super-eco wash that takes 4 hours but uses very little power etc which I put on overnight. I couldn't recommend it more!0

I'm pretty certain the JL White goods are rebadged Zanussi / Electrolux products. No bad thing, but I prefer Bosch. My farts hospitalize small children0 -
I bought a Zanussi last year from Tesco and I am still happy with it.
Their model numbers indicate the drum size and the spin speed, so it's pretty easy to see what you're getting. I have the 1600 spin speed which is definitely worthwhile. I think it's Zanussi ZWF160700 -
asda do hotpoints and indesits from about 230 quid.Get some gorm.0

We got a zanussi washer and its been fine, had an issue with the drum but we got it fixed in the end0

Visit Kelkoo or Ebay and look for R Graded products - they may have a small dent or scuff - possibly on the side which you will never see if you put it under a unit.
The product will come with a full guarantee and you will have all the usual consumer protection if paid for by credit card.
By buying an R graded product you get say a £400 -£450 model for say £300 including delivery.0
