Steam Cleaner recommendations please

can anyone recommend a steam cleaner that is good for upholstery?
My neighbour kindly lent me her Morphy Richards Essentials Precise Steam Cleaner and it was good but not brilliant; it has cleaned most things well but not my settee (although the armchairs are looking good)
I have read mixed reviews about a number of steam cleaners- does anyone have a VAX Steam Cleaner and, if so, are they are good?
Have got a carpet cleaner which is great on the carpets but makes the settee too wet and then causes watermarks.

How good upholstery steam cleans will depend on the fabric.
I have a Morphy Richards Grimebuster, which is similar to a Polti, with same bar pressure etc & is a great all round cleaner & quite powerful. But I know they don't make this model anymore.
Why not go along to your local library & check out the copies of Which magazine to see if they have done a recent testing of steam cleaners? The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I have been looking for one of these recently as mine broke (over use probably) but I cant seem to find one for under £30 except on ebay but the postage prices are daft and everyone I have emailed wont let me pick up. If anyone has seen one anywhere at a bargain price I'd be really grateful.
Cheers in advance. EmmaDid I help?...click thanks please.

I read someone proclaiming the wonders of such things, and thought I might get one in the not-too-distant future. They said theirs was from Aldi, and I had a look. My nearest Aldi is about 10 miles away, but I intend to be making a visit in the next couple of weeks and picking up one of these. That do ya?0

Thankyou! I'm off into town today so will nip past and grab one...they are fantastic but slighty addictive (that might just be me...lol). Fab for cleaning everything without the elbow grease so thumbs up from me!
Cheers again!:beer:Did I help?...click thanks please.

Hello
I need to buy a household steam cleaner to clean the carpet and also the flat in general. We're moving out and have to clean the flat as part of the tenancy agreement.
Can anyone recommend a good steam cleaner that is not too expensive please.
Thanks.

Hi there, you might be best asking on the DIY forum :-)0

Steam cleaners are useful, but personally I would pay the £7 per hour + materials, especially if they can give you an idea of how long it will take. Part of the reason for this is that steam cleaners tend to fetch the paint off walls (I talk from experience!) if you dont quite know what you are doing! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
