Bidding in odd amounts

I've been using ebay on and off for a few years but lately I've noticed that stuff I've sold has gone for really odd amounts, eg this weekend I sold some shorts for £3.42 and I've recently been out bit several times and the winning bids have been for strange amounts too. I was just curious as to how this happens as when I bid it is always in increments of £1 or 50p.

I wonder that too, I 'won' a blouse for £4.64 the other day. I'd bid a fiver I think.

because if you bid £1.50 and I bid £1.52 I win

I always bid in odd amounts for that reason.

I always bid in odd numbers! Loads of folk bid in 10s so my odd numbers put me ahead!

I always check the bidding history and habits of the people I am bidding against.If their last few winning bids have all been £x.62 then I will bid £x.63 and hope to beat them by a penny.If there are a few other bidders I account for all of their little habits and set my highest bid accordingly.

Always bid odd amounts too, normally 12 or 52 is enough to beat someone.

I do the same, always bid just over the pound or the 50p threshold and have won a lot of items this way using a sniper.

i am another one who bids in odd number . for some reason i always bid and use 78p so i do £4.78 or £10.78. i thought it was only me that did this ...
