The plural for half is halves. I think the general rule for words ending in f is to add an s, but "half" is one of a select group of words (like calf, leaf or shelf) that is an exception to the rule.
I guess "running a half" is short for "running a half marathon", so if you take "half" to be an abbreviated noun for "half marathon" - rather than the dictionary definition of "half" on its own - then running two "halfs" is acceptable I think.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Only kidding, the terminology is often used loosely but the intervals are the rest, the tough bits in between are the reps (or repetitions).
Anyway, well done on getting an interval session under your belt....what do the list of figures actually refer to?
Thanks RichOneday all the terminology has me so confused
The times were my min/mile pace for each rep- does that make sense? I'm like a tortoise, like to take things slowly so interval training is my nightmare- what is the benefit of them?! (Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -

Hi guys. I'm starting from 0% fitness and going to start running at the end of September (in dissertation hell at minute, so not bothering yet). I'm thinking of setting myself a goal to aim for like a 5K race. I don't care how long it takes me to get round, so long as I do. How long do you think I would realistically take to train for it? (I'm a 28 year old girl, BTW.) I'm just looking at the dates for booking a race, that's all.
Thanks muchly!

Had a welll rough run tonight but was a due a bad one - ate too much too late and had a stitch from mile one!!
Managed 9 miles in 1:31:10 which is prob my slowest run to date but had to stop once to double over with said stitch to try and ease it out...opps!
Anyway, thats fine with me because I can do a nice easy 4 tomorrow to keep the legs ticking over for the Leeds 5k on Sat
