I disagree re: the adverse reactions thing. I get adverse reactions from many facial creams and basicly stuff with things in like petroleum, lanolin oils and even rose and coconut oils, my skin gets really deeply enbedded and very painful spots, they leave a red/purple welt mark on my skin for about 6 months long after they have gone and since I did a trial from boots I made a mention of this, had a lovely phone call apologising and talking more about the symptoms.
Since then I have made sure never to apply for any facial moisturisers or moisturising facial creams as a direct result.
I have had two sent to me (in error?) since then. Not sure why, I often get things I don't request but with the creams it just seems a bit mad. I took the last one and trialled it just to prove a point to them: had the same adverse reactions. Am hoping I don't get any more though as I worry I'll get some sort of blacklisting by having to refuse or send back trials as a result.0 -
I second this - they send you adverse reaction emails weeks after you have finished testing and can't remember what you said. On one form I said the product didn't have any effect wrinkles and wasn't very moisturising - I got the email. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Jennie sorry to hear that . perhaps not wise to trial if you have such problems but it is entirely your choice and with Boots you can apply for things that wont affect your flareups/allergies etc.Prhaps contact them again and have a chat re the facial creams. But you will find probably that most here have had things sent to them they didnt request. I know I have - glitterly makeup etc things I would never request. I just return them and say sorry I didnt ask for these or these are not appropriate.Personally I dont see this as a big issue for you nor for me. was just pointing it out as a lot of folks here do a lot of trials and cant recall weeks later what they have written on their forms and wording can lead them to think you have had some major issue with reactions which we have not.
I don't want to cancel the chance to trial things, it does only seem to be facial moisturisers/eye creams (though one eye cream I tested was OK). I don't seem to get the same issue with cleansers or makeup or even body care so would be an own goal to cancel with them (I also secretly really love when I come home to one on my doorstep being it really could be absolutly anything, it could be any range, any price, any item, its sort of like Xmas for me!!:rotfl:).
I have before emailed them when I was sent a facial cream being that the first trial I did for them was a facial cream and had the same effect, they replied back apologising for the error in having sent me the trial and asking me to mail it back which I did. Since then I have done another facial cream trial in which I thought I'd give it a go: thinking maybe they are trying to find one that works for people with skin like me and want me to test it out. Gave me spots again. Returned again filling in the reactions part, no email or follow up call though.
I guess I'll stick to emailing to mention but do seem to get many trials I don't originally ask for. Its not the end of the world by any means but would be great if I did get more of what I asked for then what I didn't. Either way I still look forward to whatever I find from them on my door mat.
(Though really wish they'd get rid of those horrible envelopes: nightmare to open as you have to do so over a bin-bag, the inside fillers are really not very nice at all!)0 -

I think the newer padded envelopes where you pull a tab is much better - though it doesn't always work if they have put too much in. I often got in a mess with the old ones especially when they sealed the ends with lots of sellotape.0 -
lolly i find them worse. they always split without fail making a mess everywhere (which can be annoying when you dont have a hoover)and cannot be reused due to the design. padded envelopes cannot as far as I am aware be recycled and the green advice I have seen everywhere is to reuse as much as possible. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Just finally managed to get in to the site (supposidly was brought onboard in December but never got any info) only to find my address is wrong on there! I've tried changing it but it wont let me. Any idea how I can get this changed?
Also, anyone know how many trials you can request at one time? I know it says not to request ones for the same part of your body but I've accidentally requested both the eye make-up and the roller-ball thing not thinking that they are technically the same area (in my head one was make-up and one wasn't lol). I'm gonna have to get used to this lol. Hoping that seeing as all these trials were on there for awhile I wont get them, although really want the exzema shampoo one as having to use Johnsons baby shampoo at the moment to try and calm my exzema down on my scalp!Never give up the dream! :beer:0 -
My address was wrong for ages - i found sending an email did not work and I even phoned and it was not changed. I then had an email about a specific trial and this is how I got it changed.
I'd try and call in the first instance as I did get someone to answer eventually!0 -

Thanks. Just called and managed to get someone on the non-0800 number (typical lol). Hopefully this will get sorted but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it!!
Edit - Just tried to log in to see if it changed only to find my password wasn't working. Requested a new one and yeah all my details are up to date now but my profile details have been removed and my requests! Oh well back to choosing what to request again!Never give up the dream! :beer:0
