web browsers on HTC phones

I would like a new phone to use for my work away from home. I book parcel shipments using UPS, DHL websites and other parcel carrier websites like interparcel transglobal & pharos parcel.

I am always emailing PDF files, cut &pasting UPS & DHL waybills tracking labels onto word docs, filling in collection & delivery address using booking forms. I currently use firefox and its great because when filling in forms it recognizes addresses as you start to type them saving time and I don't have to know my customer address in my head..

I am thinking along the lines of getting a HTC phone as it has an MS office application which would help but what are the web browsers like on these phones. Are they really as good as firefox, internet explorer etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Paul

You need to be careful, HTC now supply handsets with other OS's in addition to Windows Mobile, so you need to pick the right one. Also, for intensive use, I doubt any standard smartphone will be able to do as you ask, it just isn't built for commercial use. Windows Mobile itself is fine, and I prefer the Opera WM browser supplied in my WM Samsung Omnia to the IE version, BUT although it works well with PDF's etc, all the MS Office applications are cut down version, and there is no MS Access.

Nonsense I do everything on my HTC Touch 3G i do on a pc....no MS access ?

Access to what ? I have business hotmail/msn email, outlook, messenger (with my business email), office etc etc

If its for business I'd get a small netbook aswell. I can use my mobile & netbook at same time - one hand each, cuts down your time management - more time to play ;)
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

A word of advice is not to buy a HTC phone with Android OS on it as it does not support Viewing or editing documents of any type or PDF files but The browser is good though and very clear .

Currently The T-mobile G1 and Vodafone HTC magic run android but seem not suitable for your needs die to the document viewer and editor. However , if somehow you do decide to get one. I'm sure in a few months these issues will be sorted out. Can't wait for that personally lol

Doubt this very much. The reason they are read only is no license from Microsoft as Android platform being used.

Opera 9.5 works well and 9.7 beta looks even better.
