Conclusion: Healthy Setup! We could detect no interesting responses from any of the commonly probed TCP and UDP ports. It would be difficult for an attacker to know where to start without further information.

do you have a webserver locally? Because it looks like ZA has these ports open (80 is for http, 443 is for https).
What happens if you click on this http://localhost ?
Hi Lob Rockster
"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost"
ran dslreports no problems
ran grc again no problems
suppose it isent that great
Thanks for the help0 -
well that does not sound so bad....at least there seems to be no webserver on that machine.
But the firewall should set these ports to closed....In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0 -

I've got a pretty good firewall in the router so most of the ports are stealth. The only problem I have is because my network server needs to accept SMTP communications HTTP and HTTPS connections, I have to have these ports open unfortunately.
I have just installed Sygate Personal Firewall and the test on the Sygate Site and the shields up site both show that I have HTTP and HTTPS ports open as Tiger Matt, all other tests have come back OK. Should I be worried about these ports being open - what is the risk, can I do anything else to minimise it?
Thanks in anticipationIt's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission0 -
For external security testing I use Security Space. They have 3 types of free audit; No Risk, Basic and Single Test.
I actually pay the $9.95 pa for their Desktop Audit.
