Please help - Decent hotel nr Sanford airport

Can anyone recommend a hotel, ideally with facilities such as sauna and jaccuzzi close to Sandford, florida for 1 night only?
We don't really want to come off the plane and get a hire car to drive to our apartment, as we may have been drinking on the plane and as it is our honeymoon, I was thinking of treating (soon to be) mrs FTD with a bit of pampering, however, the hotel should be near the airport so we can pick up a car the next day.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Can't recommend anywhere but Expedia http://www.expedia.co.uk/ show several hotels near Sanford you will probably have to go by taxi though. The big chains seem best bet like Homewood suites Lake Mary it has a 5 rating from travelers.0

Thanks, but i'm not looking for lists of online booking companies.
I'm looking for anyone that can tell me about a decent hotel where sanford airport is so I can pick up my car from Sanford airport the next day rather than getting the car or a taxi when I get off the plane, if I was going to get a car or a taxi when I get off the plane, I would just get one straight to the apartment I am going to!!!

Sanford airport is a bit secluded and isn't surrounded by hotels like other airports. I suggest as Balt says - try expedia for something in Lake Mary. You can't just walk to a hotel from Sanford airport, you will need to get a taxi.0

where are you staying for the rest of your honeymoon?
i know when my nan and aunt have gone before, they had a limo pick up them from the airport to transfer them to the hotel (im not sure if they booked this through virgin, or separately).
whether you do end up going full hog, limo to main hotel, or limo to temporary hotel, it would be an experience
and a lot of car hire companies have a degree of flexability about where you can collect the car from - eg from the airport, hotel etc (although there may be an extra charge for this)
enjoy your honeymoon :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -

I did think of getting a Limo, but my primary goals are, as neither of us will particuarly want to drive after getting off the plane, possibly because of tiredness/drinking/lateness, and we are going to a private house in westridge about 45 miles away (i'm told) - we want to get a hire car that we can 'drop off' back at Sanford on our return home. I thought it would be easier to treat the other half to a 2 min taxi ride to a nearby hotel with spa facilities for a meal and overnight stay, then the next morning get the hire car!
Have you ever tried searching the various sites quoted above for hotels nr sanford airport?

FLORIDA HOTELS
The above gives you a link to Florida Hotels/Motels etc. Sandford is listed.
If you click 'Sandford' then click on any hotels listed the site will give you a star rating and a description of the hotel and accommodation etc..You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -

Sanford Airport was formerly a military base if that gives you the picture of where it is. There aren't any hotels onsite and you'd be looking at a taxi ride of 15 minutes plus to the nearest hotel if I recall it was at the juction of I-4 about 8 / 10 miles and I think it was a Springhill Suites or something similar.
If I was you and you're flight arrives into Sanford during daylight hours I would bite the bullet and just drive straight to the Villa, keep the bottle of champagne till you get there.0
