With virgin it's very easy to change your pin. Just in case there's something else they've not told you about - there are paid for games on there too. I know this because someone I work with was letting his 4 year old play them and then got whacked with a huge bill at the end of the month for over £100.

Go to the home page. Press 8 (setings) then press 2 (change pin). You then have to enter your current PIN and then I think it gets you to enter the new one.

Sorry you've been misled by Virgin. I phoned them today to see if I could get my monthly bill down. I'm on their XXL package apparently, asked how much the cost would come down if I downgraded the TV channels and was told that it would actually cost me £20.95 more a month if I downgraded because I'm on a special deal *sigh*.

Last month I phoned to ask how much extra it would cost to up my broadband speed and was told if I went up to their fastest option it would cost me 50p a month LESS than I was paying.

Talk about nothing ever being simple. Basically as far as I can work out - the more you get from them the cheaper it is. The only thing I managed to get out of them was a £5 cut on my bill by getting rid of the 'spare' box they made me keep a year ago when I got a new one. Back then, if I hadn't kept it (even though it's not plugged in), it would have cost me £15 a month more.

    Virgin are nuts.
I will vouch for that any day of the week :)

Hi there i used to have V+ and an extra box in my son's bedroom but due to high bills i decided to get rid. I still have phone and internet with them. When i asked for the boxes to be removed they said i could keep one for free TV. So after asking them that there would be no bills or hidden extras i said ok i will keep the one in my son's bedroom and again asked that he couldn't access anything to which they assured me all was ok as it was only free tv!

I got a letter today telling me that my usage was higher than normal so i rang them and was told that over the last 30 days there was a bill of £250 just for the free tv box?? On asking further they told me that it was Movies on demand. I said that all had been removed etc etc but they said well they were watched so you must pay. I explained that it was free tc and everything was removed but they said no as it was freeview there was access to movies on demand, i argued my case but they just repeated that i must pay :(

This is very worrying for a number of reasons, my 11 year old had access to adult movies etc plus i was misled plus i can't afford this huge amount but if i don't pay i will be without internet and telephone :(

I asked for backdated bill since the service was removed "June 2007" and they said i could get 6 months but then must pay £2 for all others going back to that date!!!

I asked for what notes where on the system regarding removing my tv package and it was as follows,

Plz help .... what can i so? Like they want £36 just so that i can check my bills??

Virgin must be the company that create the most co*k up's in the country. A similar thing happened to us, although the bill was only around £40 extra, but it was for adult material watched between 2-3 in the morning. It certainly wasn't anyone in our house, and eventually Virgin agreed to waive the charges.
