help me find a special occasion/prom dress

Help......my 16 year old daughter is have her school prom this June.

Some of the dresses are so expensive.does anyone have any ideas where is a good place to by one.I live in Leeds by the way, but don't mind ordering online.

She wants it to be baby blue.

I have been looking on eBay there at lots from China but a bit worried about the quality and wouldn't be able to return it if it was wrong.

Thanks everyone, hope you can help

don't know if it helps but when my friend's daughter and all her friends had their prom last year they all got dresses in tk maxx

seemingly they sell loads of them and for really good prices - other advantage is they also sell bags and shoes so easy to co-ordinate :)

  • It was only last week I was loooking at dresses and wished I had a prom to go to, or knew someone who was going to recommmend these gorgeous dresses, they are on Ebay - new and from Jane Norman but a fraction of the cost at £19.99 ish. They are so pretty, I nearly bought one as a treat to myself but got no occasion to wear it! Not very moneysaving of me! Just do Ebay search for Jane Norman dress and I am sure you will find them. Hope she has a great time!

You live in Leeds so have you been up to Junction 32? Thre is an outlet store for Monsoon and they always have lovely posh dresses in stock. You can get a discount card for the whole outlet village and if you visit the website and there are always sales on,

  • Hi

thanks very much. Forgot about TK Maxx and I will look at Jane Norman on ebay.

Have been to Junction 32 and looked in Monsoon a couple of times, but have bigger sizes or mostly bridal wear. Will keep popping in though.

    Thanks again
  • Also with Monsoon they used to have a "damaged" rail. I bought an expensive dress for about £20 and it needed a new zip. Even getting someone else to fit it only cost £6.

My daughter bought hers from Debenhams. They have some really nice ones, and are not an extortionate price either. Hope she has a super time.

Debenhams have their Mega Days on the 4th, 5th and 6th March so a lot of dresses will be 20% off.

There's some gorgeous "50s prom style" dresses for £45
