Bi-fold: bifold kitchen door. Good idea? Must it run on tracks?

Mmmm, Your thoughts on this one please.... Due to lack of space I'm considering a bi-fold door between hallway and kitchen. Not sure at all really. Thinking about using glass too, for the top half of a pine door, as its so dark in the hallway otherwise. What about opening towards the hallway instead of into the room? I'm…

We have a knob on both sides, of the door, tbh we just push the door open. The handles can be anywhere they don't need to be central.

Yes the track is at the top only,

I'm not sure if you can buy in different widths, but I would have thought they could be made, by a joinery firm!
