Leave sky and change contract

My situation is that I have had Sky TV for years and am also currently subscribed to Sky Broadband Max, I have had this for a while and am past my 12 month contract period.

I am currently living with parents/family and will be moving to my own place in the next month or so. As I am leaving, my brother will be paying for sky, I was thinking of changing the billing details to his.

I got thinking, now would be an opportune time for me to cancell my contract and my brother to signup to a new contract to take advantage of Sky HD offer (we currently have Sky+).

Would sky treat my brother as a new customer or a returning customer ? The new contract would obviously be at the current address and he obviously has the same surname (though not intial). He would also be taking out O2 broaband, since he has a an O2 mobile phone, so he is not worried about lack of broadband for a short time.

If it is ok, what would be the best way to proceed, I call to cancel Sky and broadband, and he calls a couple of days later to activate Sky HD ?

We currently have a quad Lnb, where I have cabled one feed to a second sky box, so in terms of installation, I would prefer they leave everything as it is and just send the box.

One last thing, the main tv is still standard definition, could we still use Sky HD box with it, until we get a new one or would the picture be very poor ?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Does anyone have an idea on whether my brother will be treated as a new customer or a returning one ? Once I know the date I will be moving, I was planning to notice to Sky, and get my brother to signup a couple of days later -

Will this set alarm bells ringing ? I don't see why this should be the case, I am geniunely moving and he shouldn't be penalised because sky was active at the house before.

I could just switch the billing to him, but that way he wont get the Sky HD deal.

Technically the household is the customer, so no he does not qualify as a new customer under Sky's rules. The fact that he has the same surname at the same address should be enough for Sky to work it out.
