What did the email actually say, was it a claim for fraudulent use?
If so upload a scanned pic of your proof of postage and then remind paypal you are covered against such an eventuality.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i have had a couple of reversals recently, one of them i lost as i had sent a code by email so i had no proof of posting, the chargeback was for £9 and because i lost i also had to pay £7 in charges!!!!!!! the 2nd reversal i was covered for as i sent it recorded delivery. i now send everything by recorded or special delivery. both buyers had also left positive feedback before the reversals. it has made me very wary.0

Yours sincerely,
As a buyer, I've just had a similar email from paypal but mine simply said that the money was collected from my credit card account instead.
The reason for this is that I nearly always pay via credit card, but on this one occassion I forgot to change the payment method to the credit card.
Paypal helpfully don't allow you to set the default as the credit card.
Anyway, a DD instruction normally is only valid for 12 months inactivity. (sometimes this can be longer, but 12 months is the norm and that's all paypal have)
After 12 months inactivity, the DD becomes dormant and so any attempt at collection is refused. As I buy via my credit card, paypal hadn't attempted to collect any DD for over 12 months.
Fortunately for me, this now means paypal have removed my bank account so my paypal account does now default to credit card payment
It appears in this instance, your buyer didn't have a valid back-up source attached to the paypal account. I suggest contacting the buyer in the first instance to see if this is a genuine error rather than something more sinister."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I have contacted buyer but no reply so far. Watch this space0

As a buyer I also had a similar e-mail from PayPal, saying that my bank had "questioned the DD" or similar wording, but when I contacted my bank they denied ever being asked for the money. It turned out it was some fault of PayPal and other posters on here have experienced the same thing.
The odd thing about this is that I thought everyone had to have a CC registered with PayPal and this guy clearly has not.
Your only recourse is to get onto the buyer as only they can pay the bill by some method.
It shows what a pain PayPal can be, you send the item in good faith as you think you have the money and then it is snatched back again.0 -

You are not required to have a credit card registered to use paypal, a bank account is sufficient.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have contacted the buyer twice no relpy. Does anyone know what I shuold do next? I would be mad if they did not pay up the £24 and got away with it.0

I would call up buyer details and phone them and also send a recorded letter to their home address telling them that paypal have advised you to take legal advice on this . Try and put the wind up them.
However I would keep on the back of paypal as well, point out that you sent it having received their instructions to do so and can prove item was sent and expect to be fully covered under seller protection rules. upload a copy of your proof of postage and just keep hassling them. If that doesn't get a real response in a day or two do an official complaint through paypal and hassle them that way as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The buyer has no phone number on their details so I will do the recorded letter and hopefully they will pay up. Thanks so much for the advice from everyone0
