Is my money safe from wife ?

Hi,
My wife is making my life a misery, we have split & don't live together, she has another guy but she wont divorce me so i live in a rented house and cant get on with my life..
I am considering spending unnecessary money on solicitors etc to get the divorce and move on.. one big concern i have is that i have savings in an account she does not know about and i need to know will this be found in the divorce process ?
Is my money safe or will i be better off spending it before we divorce ?
Any advice much appreciated
Thanks

It's safe if you're prepared to lie about it, or not declare it when required to.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

I think you need to get some legal advice to be honest - if you are found to have "disposed of marital assets" it might get very messy if the divorce ends up going through a court with her contesting anything.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Thanks bryanb,
I would be very happy to lie about it, or not declare but my concern is will it be found ? do they investigate ? how far do they go ?
And thanks MrsTyne, the problem with that may be telling somebody that information.. they may decide it needs to be brought up..
So i'm happy not to tell anybody but what i'd like to know is will the courts look into it & find this account ?
Thanks again0 -
Why don't you divorce her if she is living with someone else? Then your savings will be spent on your legal fees.....2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

The courts will not search for it, but your wife might, if she has any idea about it. Are children involved? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

You can get divorced quicker if you use adultery or unreasonable behavious as a reason. Obviously she's with someone else already so that's sorted.
I don't know about the bank accounts, but during my very messy and expensive divorce they not only take in account your savings, pensions etc, but also debts. I had to buy some furniture and a car, so put it on a credit card which was taken into account. I also stashed amounts of cash away in my house. They may query large sums going "missing" from your account with nothing to show, but not smaller ones. So £50 spending money, £100 for a day out..... I found it a handy way to "lose" money!0 -
If your wife has left you and set up with someone else then you should be divorcing her. Although you seem to be the aggrieved partner in all this, that doesn't give you a right to conceal assets.
On wonders, if you have savings your wife doesn't know about, whether there is more to this situation than meets the eye!0 -
My guess is we're not getting the whole story here. A divorce should be relatively straightforward if she is living with someone else (adultery, etc) and I wouldn't think it would be too expensive for the OP. But then maybe he has done things too...0
