sky missold talk package please help

HI i hope this is the right place to post this if not could some one send me in the right direction please.

My partner joined sky in april and we told them we wanted the unlimited call package for £5 extra a month which i thought they had put us on.

Ive just had £56 worth of call charges taken from our account as they didnt put us on the correct package, i called sky and the lady i spoke to said there was nothing she could do about and i was to contact customer relations via email and they would sort the problem but as a good will jesture she has waived the £5 fee for the unlimited package for 6 months.

I emailed customer relations and they have basically told me to sod off and that sky had sent me a letter on the 6th of april confirming i was on the standard package so tough luck. i cant remember receiving the letter but we moved house on the 1st april and with two small children i didnt think i had to worry about sky not doing there job properly.

can anyone tell me where i stand please one of my friends told me to call the bank and tell them that i hadnt authorised the direct debit and they would refund it to my account because of dd guarentee but i just dont have a clue where i stand and cant afford £56 for calls that should have been free.

Two things come to mind. Did you sign an agrrement of any kind? If they have your signature then they will probably hold you to the deal.
I wouldn't cancel a direct debit until checking that first.
If it was all arranged by telephone call, then don't Sky record their calls "for your safety and security" Now might be a good time to put that one to the test. Ask them about it.
