Mine sometimes does this. I usually take out the card, unplug the box and leave it for a while. If it still doesn't work I leave it unplugged overnight, or press the back up button on the box.
I had 3 HD boxes in the first 3 months due to failures. Since the warranty ran out 11 months ago, i've always got it back working again because I don't want to pay for any repairs!
Good luck.0 -
What make is the box and how long you had it? Is it all channels and recordings or just specific ones and is Anytime working OK?0

Mine have all been Thomson's. Honestly, mine freezes, or has failed recordings, every few months. It's a bit of a pain but most likely you'll get it working again.0

Have you done a forced software download on it? I would try that first, can't do any harm.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

no not tried that macman, will find the instruction book and try that tomorrow0

Do you get heavy pixelation while whatching channels? Most people will say the power supply is going which is a known problem on the thompsons. However it could be an LNB or tuner problem as the new EPG relies on both feeds almost constantly and feed 2 becomes the normal viewing feed and feed 1 for recording where it was opposite with the old EPG. Swap over the cables just to rule that out initially then we can start looking at the PSU.0
