If the car is not registered to the garage, then it may have gone to a leasing company and still be in the system.

If the car IS registered to the garage, and they have received nothing yet, then you should be in the clear. The NIP must be served by first class post on the registered keeper within 14 days of the alleged offence. As has clearly not been (if the garage is the RK), then any NIP now sent would not be valid.

I think harvey has been on the pop.

I'm pretty sure hire cars are immune to speeding tickets. I've regularly had every hire car to digits carol vorderman would struggle with.

IMO, you're fine if the garage has had nothng after 6 weeks

    What utter nonsense!

The ticket would go to the address on the V5, which if it was a hire car, would go to the Head Office, they would then send it to the brance that issued the car, they then would send the ticket back in with the hireres details on.

We get this a lot with cars we have just sold. The ticket goes to the lease company, the lease company send it back with the auction's details where it was sold, they may have moved the car about to another site, so the ticket goes there, then it comes to us. Which we then send BACK in with the new RK's details..

LOL! I meant it all tongue in cheek.

Yes, but they've received nothing. I don't know what relevance there is in the fact that he's forewarned the garage that they may receive a NIP. All he can do is to wait. And if it turns out that the NIP is late, then there is no case to answer.
